Howton Contractors LTD was established in 1975 and over the years has seen many changes in the agricultural sector, with many farms amalgamating to become bigger units and advances in technology making it possible to achieve higher output in less time. At Howton our aim has always been to continually update our machinery to satisfy the needs and demands of our customers and to provide a service you can rely on with experienced operators.

Contract Farming

Farming has changed greatly and one of the cost effective alternatives has been for landowners to contract their land out to another. This option has been taken on board by ourselves and is now an important part of our business with various arrangements in place to match individual requirements. All of the agronomy and part of the management is undertaken by Will Doidge of Tamar Crop Services in addition to servicing his own customer base. If you would like any detail regarding contract farming or stubble to stubble options please contact Howton Contractors.

Forage and Fodder

Silage, hay, straw, whole and rolled grain can all be supplied as either one off loads or on continual supply. We are also in a postion to grow crops such as maize and whole crop cereals under contract on a 'tonnage supplied' basis which makes it fair and cost effective. Our contract farming agreements put us in a position of having land pockets in many areas in Cornwall and Devon, one of which may be close to you to make this a very convenient and attractive option.
